Team HorseHage Riders Triumph at Hartpury 1st September 2010
Team HorseHage riders were on top form in the CCI* competition at the recent Mitusbishi Motors Hartpury Horse Trials in Gloucestershire.

In a very exciting show jumping phase in which the order was dramatically changed, Devon-based Helen West riding her own seven-year-old, 17hh gelding, Mon Chappelle (or ‘Pierre’ as he is known at home) took first place following a lovely clear round within the time and, climbing up from 4th place overnight, finished on their dressage score of 47.3

Said a delighted Helen: “I am chuffed with his performance and this is my first ever three-day-eventing win!”

Wiltshire-based Georgie Spence took second place with the bay mare, KBIS Starlet, a new ride this season and owned by KBIS Insurance and Mrs Jo Meyer. The pair jumped clear to move up 10 places into runner-up position finishing on a score of 49.9.

Top international eventer, Lucy Wiegersma, another Devon-based rider, took 4th place with Jeopardy, whilst seventeen-year-old Katie Bleekman, also based in Devon, finished in 7th place on Prince Apollo.

This 15-year-old horse by Welton Apollo is owned by the Bleekmans and Mrs Sarah Allan and with his young rider, Katie, the combination are now establishing themselves at one star level. Katie was also awarded the Dennis Ivan Memorial Trophy for being the highest placed rider under 21.
